A core I7 processor, which is the top of the line Intel processor (just under the elusive and expensive I9), for under $300 is a great deal any time you can get it.
I would much prefer this to some under-powered chromebook for kids’ school. It can do all of the same stuff as a chrome book and then some. You probably won’t be getting in to any hardcore gaming with this one, but It should have ample power to to web-based games and can handle any desktop document publishing and day to use.
